Infuse historical marker grant applications into your curriculum to turn your community’s history into a fully funded marker from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation. In this workshop, Susan Hughes will introduce the benefits of the Foundation’s diverse marker grant programs and national education initiative, which guides students in researching primary sources to apply for a Pomeroy Marker. Jessica Elfenbein will share her experience using the Foundation’s curriculum with master’s and PhD students to prepare grant applications to commemorate history in South Carolina. The workshop will also cover the importance of primary sources and provide tips for preparing a standout marker grant application.
